How to Instantly Transform Any Outdoor Space Into a Gorgeous Bamboo Oasis

Bamboo — prized and famous for its strength, durability and ability to regenerate faster than any plant in the world. So how does it stand up as a landscaping material?

Excellent, of course!

Bamboo fence rolls are a quick and super affordable way to redefine your garden and living spaces. They are made up of bamboo poles cut to the same length and fastened together with nearly-invisible metal wire.

Common size options are 6’x6′ and 4’x6′ in yellow or true black (not dyed) colors. Higher quality bamboo rolls come in 1″ diameter.

Bamboo turns ugly into beautiful, and more

Let’s face it: chain link fences and hollow-tile brick walls may be affordable, but they aren’t exactly beautiful.

Enter bamboo fence rolls: they “magically” change any chain link fence, hollow tile wall or even an old wood fence into a stunning and durable bamboo enclosure. All it takes are a few zip ties or hollow tile screws for fastening and about half an hour of time.

Too exposed on your lanai? Secure some bamboo fence rolls around your railings for some treasured privacy.

You can even create free-standing bamboo “walls” using a simple frame made of 2×4 and 1×2 wood pieces. These walls can be moved around and used instantly any way you please, for example:

  1. Beautifully-framed garden vignettes (the bamboo will help make what’s in front of it pop out)

  2. Portable partitions for outdoor events and parties

  3. Backdrops for performance productions

How to prevent your bamboo from fading

One of the biggest concerns with using bamboo (or any wood product) is weathering, which can cause a dull, faded and discolored look.

You can preserve your bamboo’s natural luster and add years of longevity with these two simple steps:

  1. Sterilize both sides of the bamboo with a 10% diluted solution of bleach and water (use a spray bottle). Let it dry for 24 hours.

  2. Seal both sides of the bamboo with standard wood sealer (like Thompson’s WaterSeal, also use a spray bottle). Gently rub in the sealant with a soft cloth. That’s it!

Bamboo is Earth-friendly, too

Unlike many other plants, bamboo is naturally high in bacteria and doesn’t require any harmful pesticides and fertilizers to grow. It produces up to 35% more oxygen than other trees, and grows to full height in a matter of weeks.

Bamboo also has a higher tensile strength than many alloys of steel!

Geobunga sources high-quality yellow and black bamboo from Shanghai, where it’s sustainably grown and harvested. Come on down and pick some up 🙂
